Compliance with commercial vehicle regulations is enforced on-road by Ministry of Transportation enforcement officers and police officers, as well as through facility audits. At Chucks Truck Service Centre, we make sure your truck is in full compliance with all safety regulations as prescribed by the MTO.
CVIP Inspection Preparation
What To Bring?
When going to get your truck CVIP inspected, you’ll need a valid driver’s license, valid insurance, and proof of ownership. When arriving for your appointment, be sure to arrive a few minutes early to get checked in for service.
What Does a CVIP Inspection Include?
What does the inspection cover, you may ask? The inspection covers anything that ensures the safety of you and others on the road. This covers your brakes, your steering, your lighting systems, your passenger and driver safety systems, your cargo securement assemblies, and anything else safety oriented. It also includes the safety equipment you have on board. This includes a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and similar safety gear.
What does a CVIP inspection for heavy-duty diesel trucks include?
A CVIP inspection examines critical systems like brakes, suspension, tires, steering, and emissions to ensure compliance with provincial safety standards. It is a mandatory check for commercial vehicles over 4,500 kg GVW in Ontario.
